From building a modeling career in the Philippines to representing Uzbekistan on the international pageant stage, Amaliya Shakirova’s journey reflects ambition, reinvention, and a deep connection to the Filipino community she holds close to her heart.
Known as Miss Grand Uzbekistan, Amaliya has earned a nomination for Model of the Year at The Iconic Awards 2026, marking another major milestone in her career. The grand finale is set for November 11, 2026, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where she hopes to receive support from those who have followed and celebrated her journey.
For Amaliya, whose life and career are closely intertwined with the Philippines, this recognition offers a chance to celebrate not only her accomplishments but also the people and experiences that have shaped her along the way.
From Manila with ambition
Amaliya moved to Manila in 2015 and quickly made a name for herself in the local fashion and modeling industry with her sharp features, versatility, and magnetic presence.
I started my modeling career at just 13 years old, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work with brands and designers across Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Germany, Italy, France, the Philippines, and, of course, my home country, Uzbekistan.”
Over the years, she built a commercial portfolio featuring campaigns for household brands—including C2, PH Care, Nescafé, OPPO, San Mig Light, and Red Horse—alongside nationwide SMDC billboard campaigns.
Her natural elegance made her a favorite muse for fashion houses and visionary designers, leading to collaborations with prestigious names such as Jewelmer, Plain & Prints, Paul Cabral, Mark Bumgarner, Manny Halasan, and Penshoppe. These experiences provided a strong foundation for her eventual transition into international pageantry.
Taking the International Stage
In 2022, Amaliya made a promising pageantry debut, earning 1st Runner-Up at Miss Cosmoworld in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Building on that momentum, she represented Uzbekistan at Miss Grand International 2023 and finished in the Top 20 on the global stage.

In 2024, she briefly entered the online selection for Miss Universe Uzbekistan before stepping back to focus on personal endeavors. From commercial campaigns in Manila to global beauty competitions, Amaliya has consistently demonstrated versatility, confidence, and cross-cultural appeal.
A new chapter in family life
Beyond the spotlight, Amaliya’s recent years have been defined by deeply meaningful personal milestones.

In 2025, she married Carlos Alberto De Jesus Oreta in a heartfelt ceremony in the Philippines. Later that year, the couple welcomed their daughter, Antonia Lucia.
Today, Amaliya balances her role as a full-time mother with occasional support for her husband’s practice at Veneer Center dental clinic, showing how family, ambition, and career achievements can coexist harmoniously.
A Filipina at heart
Although Amaliya represents Uzbekistan internationally, her decade in the Philippines has deepened her connection to the country and its culture.

Since making Manila her home, she has built lasting relationships, celebrated life’s milestones, and established roots far beyond the camera lens. Her marriage and the birth of her daughter have further cemented her ties, making her a true Filipina at heart. Her story bridges cultures and identities, illustrating how a place can become a permanent home regardless of nationality.
The Road to The Iconic Awards 2026
Her nomination for Model of the Year at The Iconic Awards 2026 provides another moment to honor the career she has built across borders. As the grand finale in Almaty approaches, supporters can vote for Amaliya via The Iconic Awards official voting portal.
