From the golden beaches of Cebu to the glittering stage of global pageants.

Gazini Christiana Jordi Acopiado Ganados has built a journey defined by resilience, purpose, and determined self-belief. She is far more than a beauty queen; her story is a clear testament to the strength of heritage, the comfort of family ties, and the courage to champion causes beyond herself.

Born on December 26, 1995, in Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte, Ganados wears her Filipina-Palestinian heritage as a badge of honor. When her parents parted ways, her maternal grandparents stepped in as her beacons, nurturing within her a deep reverence for family, sacrifice, and steadfastness.

These values became the bedrock of her activism and her life in the public eye.

When her family settled in Talisay City, Cebu, Ganados embraced a fresh start that would launch her to national acclaim. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at the University of San Jose–Recoletos and pursued healthcare training, demonstrating her commitment to uplifting her community.

A Dream Years in the Making

Long before she wore a crown, Ganados was already chasing her pageant dreams. Her first breakthrough came in 2014, when she competed in Miss World Philippines and placed in the Top 13. Though the crown slipped past her fingers, the experience only kindled her determination and readied her for even grander stages.

Five years later, she returned to the spotlight, radiating fresh confidence. Representing Talisay City, Cebu, at Binibining Pilipinas 2019, Ganados held audiences with her poise, striking beauty, and heartfelt advocacy. On June 9, 2019, she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines, becoming only the second Cebuana to earn this distinction since 1967, following in the footsteps of Pilar Pilapil.

Her pageant journey sparkled not only with poise but with a vivid tribute to culture. In the national costume competition, she paid tribute to Cebu’s rich history and the spirited Sinulog Festival.

Embracing her Middle Eastern roots, she delivered an enchanting belly dance in the talent segment, smoothly blending both sides of her heritage.

Throughout the competition, Ganados championed elderly care, a cause deeply rooted in her love for the grandparents who shaped her life. Her message struck a chord: society must treasure and honor the generations who have paved the way for all that comes next.

Bringing the Philippines to the Universal Stage

As Miss Universe Philippines 2019, Ganados carried the dreams of an entire nation to the Miss Universe stage in Atlanta, Georgia. Her experience was marked by unforgettable fashion moments, from a majestic Philippine eagle-inspired national costume to runway ensembles that celebrated Filipino imagination and creativity.

On the universal stage, Ganados used her platform to shine a light on a cause close to her heart: the well-being of older persons. Drawing on her own story, she spoke fervently about combating ageism and ensuring no one is left behind.

Her authentic advocacy and genuine sincerity earned her a spot among the Top 20 semifinalists at Miss Universe 2019, where she also claimed the Best National Costume Award for a design by Cary Santiago. Ganados’ unforgettable performance cemented her position as one of the Philippines’ most beloved beauty queens.

A New Episode on the International Stage

In 2026, Ganados made a triumphant return to the international spotlight, representing the Philippines at the inaugural Miss Grand International All Stars competition in Bangkok, Thailand. Six years after her Miss Universe journey, she revealed her outstanding ability to evolve, inspire, and develop connections to audiences around the globe.

Throughout the preliminary rounds, she emerged as one of the competition’s brightest stars, dazzling in the evening gown, swimsuit, and bare-faced segments. Her stellar performance secured her a coveted place among the elite finalists.

For the grand finale, Ganados took the stage in a breathtaking gown that united her Palestinian heritage and Filipino artistry, a powerful emblem of identity, unity, and cultural honor. Created by Rian Fernandez, the gown reinterpreted the traditional Palestinian keffiyeh, embellished with intricate Filipino metalwork and sparkling blue crystals.

The most moving moment arrived during the final question-and-answer round, when she spoke candidly about facing cyberbullying and the hardships her family endured during the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

With sincere honesty and vulnerability, she pledged to use her speech on behalf of those who are too often silenced. Her message transcended the pageant stage, highlighting the essential strengths of empathy, representation, and fortitude in a world in constant flux.

Gazini concluded her MGI All Stars journey as a Top 5 finalist, a remarkable achievement that underscored her persistent influence and ongoing significance on the international stage.
