The future of P-pop is female! A Davao-based girl group DAELUX has officially made their pre-debut with the upbeat jam “Like That” released under Sony Music Philippines. Right from the start, this seven-member group brings a fresh sound filled with youthful vibe. In fact, their debut song perfectly captures the sweet rollercoaster of catching feelings for someone special.
Navigating Love, Mixed Signals, and Self Worth
Rather than moping over mixed signals, “Like That” takes a remarkably optimistic approach to young love. The track balances a fun, free-spirited vibe with genuine emotional depth. As a result, it really speaks to anyone who has ever overthought a crush.

Opening up about the inspiration behind the song, the group shares:
We were drawn to this theme because the feeling of liking someone and trying to figure out where you stand is something a lot of people can relate to,”
DAELUX admits.
There’s excitement, but there’s also that uncertainty when you start overthinking little actions. For us, Like That captures that stage in a fun and lighthearted way. We may all have different experiences and perspectives on love, but the song reflects that real feeling of wanting clarity while still hoping the other person feels the same way.”
At the same time, the track carries an important message about self-worth. Ultimately, it reminds listeners that being open about their feelings is a true strength. As DAELUX explains:
We think one of the biggest messages of the song is not to be afraid of truly expressing what you feel toward another person, It’s okay to be vulnerable, as long as you also know your worth and what you truly deserve.”
The Heart and Craft Behind the Studio
Behind the scenes, creating “Like That” was a deeply collaborative effort. The track was produced by Pao Lofranco and co-written by AndreaH.

Additionally, the members actively contributed their own creative ideas during songwriting. To ensure the final arrangement felt authentic, the group went through several revisions alongside their team. Furthermore, they worked closely with vocal coach Ma’am Shelley to arrange harmonies and highlight each member’s unique voice. Reflecting on their time in the studio, the members recall:
While recording, we tried to bring ourselves back to a younger and more innocent feeling—when you’re still a little unsure and inexperienced when it comes to love,”
DAELUX says.
Homegrown Davao Pride
This release marks a major milestone for DAELUX as their very first single under Sony Music Philippines. Consequently, it gives them a platform to share their distinct P-Pop identity with a global audience. Opening up about this exciting new chapter, the group expresses:
Being part of Sony Music is a huge opportunity for us. It gives us the chance to learn, grow, and take our music more seriously as artists. Working with them has also encouraged us to think bigger while still staying true to who DAELUX is,”
shares the seven-piece girl group.

What makes their story even more special is their strong local connection.
All seven members—CK, Alice, Ara, Rhya, Slane, Zyra, and Riri—hail directly from Davao. On top of that, they collaborated with a local crew for both the song and performance video. Together, they are building a vibrant creative ecosystem right from their hometown.
Today, “Like That” is officially available on all major digital streaming platforms worldwide.
