You know how critical every single second is during a medical emergency?
PAGCOR definitely does.
In a solid effort to step up local emergency services, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation just handed over seven brand-new Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to various local government units and state agencies.
The official turnover ceremony took place right at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City. This latest batch actually bumps their total contribution up to an impressive 189 vehicles donated across the country.
Showing a real, ongoing commitment to helping communities when they need it most.
Mapping Out the New Medical Units
So, where exactly are these new lifelines heading?
PAGCOR made sure to spread the support across different regions. The latest recipients include the City of Dumaguete down in Negros Oriental. Alongside the municipalities of Narra in Palawan, Manay in Davao Oriental, and Sibalom in Antique.
On top of those towns, a few major government agencies got a massive upgrade to their fleets too.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Bureau of Corrections, and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority each walked away with a new vehicle to help manage their daily operations and emergency dispatch services.
Making a Real-World Difference
According to PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco, these donations are all about beefing up the government’s overall disaster response capabilities.
The main goal here is to make sure patient transport is not only safer but significantly faster during critical situations and natural disasters.

The impact is already hitting close to home for the teams on the ground. Edward Gonzales, who heads the MMDA’s Road Emergency Group, couldn’t hide his gratitude for the new unit. He pointed out that his team tackles anywhere from 8 to 10 emergencies on a daily basis.
Having this extra vehicle means they can pick up patients and get them to the hospital much quicker, which ultimately saves lives.
It’s a massive win for public health and local community safety.

Reliable Lifeline to the Medical Care
Ultimately, this initiative highlights how strategic partnerships between national agencies and local governments can significantly strengthen grassroots healthcare.
By equipping both regional municipalities and key metropolitan groups with these essential transport units, PAGCOR isn’t just donating vehicles—they are actively bridging the gap in critical emergency response times.
As these 189 PTVs deploy across the country, they ensure that no matter where a medical crisis occurs, Filipino patients have a faster, safer, and more reliable lifeline to the medical care they need.
