For Filipinos seeking affordable and diverse health supplements, Habit, a line of 16 stock-keeping units (SKUs) of health supplements, is exclusively available at Watsons and aims to help consumers build and sustain healthy habits, according to Angelo Carpena, business unit director at Wellco Bioscience.

“We wanted to make health supplements very accessible to Filipinos,” Carpena said in a recent interview. “That’s why when we produced and designed Habit, we made sure it was truly accessible.”

Carpena highlighted three core advantages of Habit: value for money, variety, and a unique ingredient called Fibersol-2.

“If you compare it to other leading health supplements, Habit is more affordable,” Carpena said. “We also offer a wide range of products because we want to address different health needs.”

Fibersol-2, a key component in Habit’s formulations, is a type of fiber that supports gut health. “Every time you take a capsule or tablet of Habit, you’re also getting fiber. A cleaner gut helps your body absorb nutrients better,” Carpena said.

Habit’s lineup, launched in September 2023, is manufactured in Taiwan, a common production hub for health supplements in Asia. However, the products are formulated and conceptualized by Wellco’s Filipino team in collaboration with Watsons.

“We are the exclusive distributor of Habit in Watsons. All our products are available only there,” Carpena said, emphasizing the company’s close partnership with the health and beauty retailer.

The brand recently welcomed actress and “Pinoy Big Brother” host Gabbi Garcia as its newest ambassador. Carpena noted that her role aligns well with Habit’s message.

“The story of Habit is about building healthy habits. It’s easy to start a habit, but maintaining it is the real challenge,” Carpena said. “Gabbi represents someone who prioritizes her health, and we want her to encourage Filipinos to sustain their healthy habits.”

To educate consumers, Habit leverages social media, in-store promotions, and brand ambassadors. Carpena mentioned Ashwagandha, a supplement that aids in stress reduction and sleep, as an example of their educational push.

“Gabbi promotes Ashwagandha, Magnesium, and Collagen,” he said. “Through her, we hope to raise awareness on proper supplement use.”

Magnesium has emerged as Habit’s top-selling product, gaining popularity through TikTok. “It’s great for overall health — nerves, bones, sleep, and mood,” Carpena said.

Habit’s pricing starts at P349 for its Calcium supplement, which contains 45 tablets.

Carpena personally vouches for the brand’s effectiveness. “I’ve tried Magnesium, and it really helps with my mood. I’ve noticed a big improvement,” he said.

While Habit aims to simplify supplement access for Filipinos, Carpena reminds consumers to consult a physician before starting any health regimen.
