LongHorn Steakhouse, the American chain known for its fire-grilled steaks, will open its first restaurant in the Philippines on April 11 at the Streetscape wing of Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
The expansion is part of a partnership between LongHorn’s parent company, Darden Franchising, and The Bistro Group, which operates more than 200 restaurants across the country under 26 different brands.
“Filipinos know good food, and they know when it’s done right,” said Jean Paul Manuud, president of The Bistro Group. “LongHorn is built on quality and authenticity. There are no gimmicks, no shortcuts — just steak the way it’s meant to be.”
Founded in Atlanta in 1981, LongHorn Steakhouse has grown to more than 590 locations worldwide. The chain emphasizes high-grade cuts of beef, proprietary seasoning blends and grilling techniques overseen by certified “Grill Masters,” according to the company.
Among its signature offerings are the Outlaw Ribeye, a bone-in steak known for its marbling and smoky flavor, and Flo’s Filet, a center-cut tenderloin described as rich but not overpowering. The menu also features the New York Strip, the Fire-Grilled T-Bone, and options beyond beef, such as bourbon-marinated grilled salmon, Parmesan-crusted chicken and baby back ribs.
A variety of starters, salads, sides and desserts, including the multi-layered Chocolate Stampede cake, round out the menu. The restaurant will also feature a full bar with margaritas, cocktails, beer and wine.
“We know that Filipino diners appreciate food that’s honest, hearty and done with care,” said Brad Smith, president of Darden Franchising. “At LongHorn, our steaks speak for themselves, and we’re excited to share that experience here.”
The opening of LongHorn marks the latest move by The Bistro Group to expand its portfolio of international dining concepts in the Philippines. The group operates a range of restaurants offering American, Asian and local cuisines.
“LongHorn represents everything we stand for as a company — integrity, excellence and a deep respect for the craft of cooking,” Manuud said. “It’s not about trends. It’s about doing things properly and delivering meals that people remember.”
